Thermocouples
Thermocouples offer the user a rugged, robust method of measuring process temperature and offer extremely good reliability. Suitable for applications operating in the range -200°C to +1700°C depending on the construction specified. We can assemble sensors suitable for use in most applications and we can advise you of any limitations.
All of our sensors comply with BS EN 60584:1996 and its international equivalents. Generally we supply thermocouples colour coded to this standard but can by request supply to other standards for continuity with existing sensors. The majority of the thermocouples we supply conform to Class 1 tolerance band. All common thermocouple types are available and we manufacture sensors with insulated, grounded (bonded) or exposed hot junctions. Simplex, duplex, triplex or more sensing elements can be supplied in one assembly.
Process Parameters manufacturers the majority of the probes that we sell to order and to help you with your selection have created a series of our most common designs but this is in no way the extent of our capabilities and we welcome enquiries for any shape, style or design of sensor. A development of the PPL4 sensor, this time incorporating a lagging extension. This allows the terminal head to sit above any insulation or to reduce the ambient temperature of the head to protect any electronics included.

This sensor incorporates an industry standard Sanitary Hygienic process connection including Tri-Clamp, RJT and IDF. Along with crevice free welds this sensor is suitable for use in many sanitary applications including brewing, dairy and pharmaceutical.

Our PPL8 sensor has a stainless steel pocket fitted into the terminal head with a separate spring loaded insert fitted inside. This is often considered the best method of measuring temperature whilst making it easy to replace the sensor at a later date.

Our PPL9 sensor is ideal for measuring air temperature indoors or where there is no risk of condensation such as in heating and ventilation applications.

Our PPL10 sensor is ideal for measuring air temperature outdoors or in hostile environments.

Our PPL13 sensor is similar to our PPL1 sensor but its mineral insulated construction offers operating temperatures of up to 1250°C. This construction also enable very small diameter probes for fast response and the probes are flexible allowing them to be formed on site to any shape without fear of damage.
